Do You Need Leadership Principles?

Jo-Na Williams and Lara Holliday at the Tide Risers Summit in New Orleans

One of my favorite things about my job is being able to watch the transformation that women experience through their Tide Risers experience.

They come to us powerful, strong, and able -- perfectly capable of every challenge ahead of them. But what they gain from Tide Risers is pretty profound -- they find their authentic voice, re-align their intentions and goals with their values, and seize new opportunities to find greater fulfilment in their personal and professional lives.

Through this process they gain an enhanced understanding of their strengths as a leader and how best to leverage those strengths.

How do we do it? One of the tricks of our trade is the development of individualized leadership principles. This is a concise set of 4 to 6 principles that serve as your north star and enable you to lead with conviction, make strategic decisions driven by your values, communicate your unique personal brand, and play a leadership role in your own life.

Did you know that Tide Risers as an organization has its own set of Leadership Principles?

I encourage you to read them to learn more about them. They play a critical role in helping us grow and sustain the culture of our community.

This March, we'll be kicking off our 2023 Tide Risers cohort experience, called Foundations.

This four-part course is an evolution of the flagship program that has defined the Tide Risers experience and helped us create the strong community that is such a benefit to all of us.

The course will guide you in the process of creating your own Leadership Principles to help you lead with conviction, communicate your personal leadership brand, and make strategic decisions to help you pursue your intentions and goals.

I invite you to join us in this work that is so critical to the development of leadership skills for female-identifying professionals.
