Maëlle Fonteneau

 

Maëlle Fonteneau is a Tide Risers Facilitator serving Jersey City, NJ. She is a coach and facilitator and also consults with organizations in becoming more inclusive and engaging places to work. She joined Tide Risers as a Member of the 2019 New York City cohort and is thrilled to continue creating spaces for reflection and personal growth and facilitating opportunities to amplify women's voice and impact.

Maëlle has spent over 15 years in the nonprofit sector, most recently as Turnaround for Children's Vice President of People and Engagement. In this role, she developed and implemented human capital policies and practices revolving around recruitment, performance management, core values, culture building efforts, and learning and development. Her focus has been on creating a trusted and inclusive workplace rooted in equitable policies and practices. Earlier in her career, she worked in consulting for nonprofits and grantmakers and in direct service, supporting predominantly immigrant communities in legal services, early childhood education programs, and microlending.

Maëlle lives in New Jersey with her husband and children. She is currently working on becoming a certified coach through iPEC. She received a M.P.A. from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a B.A. in Political Science from Davidson College.
