Tide Risers and the Femtrepreneur

Tide Risers is a deliberate community for women leaders working for the greater good. But we’re more than that. We’re also a launchpad for female entrepreneurs, and an engine that enables women to take the step toward independent employment, supported by the necessary resources and community that are too often lacking for female founders.

The growth of Tide Risers is fueled by enterprising female founders who make the decision to play a leadership role in their community by becoming a Tide Riser Facilitator.  In two years, we have grown from our inaugural cohort in New York City to seven cities across the United States.

This growth clearly reflects a desire for women to have a trusted community of advancement, support, and accountability.  But it also reflects a growing entrepreneurial sector in the United States, particularly amongst women.

As much as the entrepreneurial spirit is strong, however, it is also tremendously challenging to launch your own enterprise.  The breadth and depth of skills one must possess to create and run a successful business is breath-taking, and like everyone, founders all come with their strengths and weaknesses.  The Tide Risers community-building model enables women to take the leap and become entrepreneurs while being supported by the structures and resources of our business, our team and, of course, our wider network.

Here’s how it works:

-Facilitators are responsible for recruiting their cohorts, facilitating UnstickHer sessions, and nurturing our members while they develop relationships with their cohort and within the larger Tide Risers community.

-Tide Risers provides Facilitators with our curricular framework, training, evaluation, and back-office supports including marketing, legal, and accounting.

-Facilitators are a part of the Tide Risers Leadership Team, bringing their enormous talents and unique perspectives to our work to continually improve our offering and elevate our members.

The women who become Tide Risers Facilitators are nothing short of wonder women.  You can read more about them here.  But suffice it to say, these women are brilliant, creative, unflaggingly supportive super-connectors.  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to support them on their entrepreneurial journey as they launch their own Tide Risers cohorts.
